The drop shadow has been a fun graphic effect. I first saw this effect being used by designer Howard Fields at the Grand Hyatt in Maui in ’89.  Since then I have shadowed thousands of murals. 

Having the dolphins on both sides of the swimmer as a ‘swim through’ can be a very exhilarating experience.   I occasionally have had the pleasure of seeing folks’ exciting reactions in person to the dolphin surround.  It is quite a reward to hear the most relished of critiques, “Wow!”.

The ‘swimming through the deep end wall’ came from searching for ideas on how to deal with the impervious deep end wall.   Solution solved....... they keep swimming.
